70th anniversary

The event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the American Settlement Plittersdorf and the Stimson Memorial Chapel was a complete success with 350 - 400 visitors, interesting lectures and the colorful supporting program in steady weather.

The lectures highlighted both the social and historical-political significance of the settlement. All speakers agreed that the settlement with its uniqueness is particularly worthy of protection and requires special attention.

The "Exodus from the church", accompanied by bagpipe music by Melanie Hein, reminded of a royal event. The following performance of the Holly Hoppers with a dance journey through time from Rock'n'Roll over the Flower Power era to the present was very well received and there was even dancing. The performances, hands-on activities and classic cars were very well received, and the bouncy castle was very popular with the younger guests.

The media interest is reflected in our social media channels and articles in the local press and will continue to be fed by RASP e.V. with information and material (eg photos).
