Tree register

The landscape architecture originally conceived by H. Mattern and H. Raderschall envisaged that something would bloom in every season and that trees and shrubs from different hemispheres would characterize the image of the estate. This concept must be preserved, taking into account the protection of the ensemble and the tree protection statutes of the city of Bonn, as well as the park maintenance plan of the compound. In addition, it is important to protect the (still) existing wildlife and its habitat by preserving the trees (see Project Flora&Fauna).

Taking into account the original landscape planning, climate-resilient tree species are also to be replanted. Source: TU-Berlin.

  • Longitude (required): 7.15722
  • Location (Street name, optional): Steubenring
  • Date of planting (Year, required): 1980
  • Date of felling (Year, required if felled): 2023

  • Comment (Free-text, optional)

  • Image (Photo, optional)

All location data on existing trees and bushes will also help to make the project a success. GPS coordinate data is either attached directly to the photo or can be accessed here. Please also send us photos and images documenting fallen trees without people in the picture.

If you witness a planned or actual felling, we recommend the following:

  • Inform the public order office immediately (Tel.: 0228-773333), which has the possibility of checking and stopping the felling action
  • Document the felling process with photos (if possible without taking pictures of people)

Anyone interested in taking part in the project is welcome to contact us, especially as we need to map and identify all existing (and already felled) trees have to be mapped and identified. In addition, discussions and consultations must be held with authorities and agencies.
